Journey Through the New Testament

Season of Lent
February 17 - April 3

Listen through the New Testament in 40 days.  Free MP3 discs with audio are available in Sunday School classes, the church office, and outside the sanctuary.  Daily passages will also be available on the website and in print. Special audio Bible stories will be available for children.  Our church will also have the opportunity to give to support the audio recording of 6 other languages where missionaries are serving.  Lent is often thought of as a time to give up something for God.  We are asking each youth and adult to "give up" 28 minutes a day to hear the New Testament in a new way.  Worship services will move through the New Testament also.  Join us in hearing God's word this Lenten season.

Peer Coach Training

Relationships are central to Christian growth and discipleship, but real growth happens best when these relationships are intentional and accountable.  Peer coaching is a relationship where two or three friends meet together regularly to help each other grow. Ultimately, peer coaching is about listening, asking questions, and encouraging fellow believers in their discipleship goals.  In a peer coaching relationship, partners identify their respective personal growth goals and help each other reach them.  The strategies and skills of peer coaching will be introduced in the Peer Coaching Training Retreat on Saturday, February 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in room 302.  Follow-up sessions will continue on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. on February 21 & 28 and March 7, 21, & 28. Contact Phil Potratz at 615.893.2514 or ppotratz@fbcmboro.org or Ircel Harrison for more information.  Deadline to register:  Sunday, February 7.

CAN 52 Food Drive

Let's Do It Again in 2010!
February 14- 21
First Baptist Church is one of 52 partners with Greenhouse Ministries committed to stocking their food pantry for one week.  Last year we collected not just the 300 items needed, but 1200-- in one week!  This enabled us to also give 400 food items to the Rutherford County Food Bank and 400 items to Midland Baptist Church for their ministry at the Regal Inn.  Let's do it again in 2010!
Please place non-perishable food items in the tubs located in the Donation Collection Area.  Suggestions include:  canned meats, fruits, and vegetables, soups & stews, boxes of pasta (such as mac & cheese), peanut butter, and cereal.
