A Unique Journey Together...

Our church is sharing in a unique journey together during the 40 days of Lent. During these 40 days our youth and adults are listening through the entire New Testament using a dramatic recording. This recording is on MP3 discs available in our church office. The same content can be accessed through this website by clicking on “Listen now” or can be downloaded free from FaithComesbyHearing.com. It takes 28 minutes per day to listen to the entire New Testament in 40 days.

For those who do not have a way to listen to these discs, several other options are available such as ordering the audio New Testament on CD’s, or ordering a prerecorded “Bible stick.” If none of these options will work for you, you can still join us by reading the passages as outlined in the attached reading guide. Our worship services during Lent will be based on passages that we are listening to each week. This will be a meaningful way to immerse ourselves in the Bible together for a period of time.

A second aspect of this Lenten journey will be the opportunity to support the audio recording of the New Testament in other languages. In many language groups the majority of the people are illiterate and cannot read the Bible. Missionaries have reported very positive results when a recording is given to them that can speak the scriptures audibly in their own language. In cooperation with the WMU, a special offering will be taken in February to support the recording of the New Testament in 6 languages where the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship currently has field personnel serving.
