This scholarship fund in named in memory of Helen Brown, church librarian for 16 years, and who was very supportive of the work of the WMU, missions education and services of First Bapstist Church. It is her family's wish that the scholarship be awared to a student that has proven to be involved in both mission work and missions education. To the student who completes the necessary requirements, $1,000 will be awarded annually ($500 each semester) through the church to the college of his or her choice. This scholarship is open to a college undergraduate or incoming college freshman for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Scholarship Application Forms are Now Available!
The Helen Brown Scholarship is available to a student who completes the following requirements:
- A 2.6 grade point average
- Member of First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro
- Involved in Acteens or Youth on Mission
- Active in mission service such as mission action projects, mission trips, community or volunteer service
- Must maintain status as a full-time student, enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours per semester
Application forms and information are available in the church office. Completed forms are due by June 1, 2008.
