Our Story

Our Church

First Baptist Church is a vibrant congregation with a long and illustrious history. We will soon celebrate 170 years of ministering in the heart of Murfreesboro, TN. Founded in 1843 we were first located on the corner of South Spring Street and Sevier Street.

Our Present Location

The present day Sanctuary was constructed in 1920 with a Neo Classical Architecture.

The three story building was built in 1956. Current use of this building includes Sunday School rooms, the children’s library, Read to Succeed and the Pastoral Counseling Center.

The Education Building was built in 1968. Current use of this building includes Sunday School rooms for preschoolers and children, the SONshine Room for children with special needs, offices, Wee School, and our Weekday Mother’s Day Out program.

The Christian Life Center was built in 1985. Current use of this building includes the Fellowship Hall, Gym, Weight room/locker room facilities, L.E.A.R.N. of TN and more.

The new Crossroads addition is scheduled to open in early 2013. This will provide space for a welcom center, a new media library, conference room, handicapped accessible bathrooms and more.
