On Sunday, April 9, 2017, during our 10:30 morning worship service, the Chancel Choir will present portions of “The Crucifixion” by John Stainer. This oratorio was first performed in February of 1887. Scored for full chorus with organ accompaniment and solos for Tenor and Bass, the work tells the passion story of Jesus through recitative, hymns, and choruses for both full chorus and some for men’s voices only. Soloists will include members of the FBC Chancel Choir as well as guest soloist, Dr. Bruce Schoonmaker.
