About Our Church
Located in the heart of downtown Murfreesboro, FBC is unified by our faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior and example. We gather weekly for worship and Bible Study, and we are committed to living out our faith by loving our neighbors. Our missions efforts include partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, financial assistance for those struggling to pay for utilities, providing hot meals and safe haven for our unhoused neighbors as an emergency shelter each winter, and many other opportunities locally, regionally and internationally. We share Christ's love for the marginalized among us, welcoming individuals and families of all kinds to join us in service, leadership, and community in the church.
Our History
Established on June 9, 1843, First Baptist Church has been loving God and our neighbors for over 177 years!
In that time, FBC has helped to establish many churches in our area, engaged in a variety of missions work to support refugees, the homeless, and other neighbors near and far, and taken a stand against racism and white supremacy by hosting an ecumenical prayer vigil the evening before a white supremacist rally was scheduled in our town square.
We are blessed to be part of the long and ongoing history of the Church.
